Exceptional people. Exceptional stories.

Welcome to
CANDID MOMENTS WITH CANDICE KIRKBRIDE
March 26th, 2021 marks 20 years since I woke up to a brand-new life and a brand-new self.
I cannot think of a better way to celebrate this milestone than to launch my very own podcast,
showcasing local exceptional people with exceptional stories.

Hello!
I am Candice Kirkbride, creator of Candid Moments.
I am a proud Canadian from a small town in Val Caron, Ontario.
I have had this idea brewing about creating a podcast for awhile now. Here is a little back story about me and what
I'm all about:
I was a “normal” person up until I was nearly 16. Three months before my 16th birthday, I suffered a catastrophic brain injury and a stroke, which resulted in the loss of more than half of my vision along with having to rebuild my life from the ground up. After an awfully long, gruelling and painful recovery, I can finally say that I am and will be forever grateful for this life which is abundant in love, learning, laughing, victory, opportunities
and beauty.
I have always had a love for connecting with people. Communication has become a focus in my life. As I began my journey in Toastmasters (a worldwide speaking organization) which then became a speaking career, published a book about my recovery, to producing and hosting a live speaking event, it all lead me here - to creating a podcast that can reach people in a wider demographic.
The most important thing you need to know about me is that GRATITUDE is my jam and I will sprinkle it all over this show. I solemnly promise to bring light, love and laughter as well as inspiration to you through every episode.

My Story
"A powerful account of human courage
and determination"
A typical teenage deception turns to tragedy in this
powerful account of human courage and determination.
Compelled by the sweetness of first love, a young girl tells
a fateful lie to her parents about her plans for the evening
and attends a party with friends. All of us have done it.
It's almost a rite of passage. But for this shy, innocent girl, a terrible
price is paid on the rainy walk home. Changed by the Rain details how one broken child cobbles herself back together, and finds peace, love, forgiveness, and purpose in the painful and often heartbreaking aftermath. I can't recommend it strongly enough.
